Tina Rae graduated with a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine from the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (PIHMA). Since that time, she has practiced in Sedona, Phoenix and several reservations in Arizona. She currently supervises clinic rotations at PIHMA, as well as having taught classes for over seven years.
Tina Rae is innately rooted to healing the body through the heritage imparted by her White Mountain Apache and Navajo ancestors Tina Rae loves to learn and is a great believer that learning never stops: it is infinite. She believes that being curious enough to keep learning, is key to being present to her own strength as a woman, and as a health practitioner.What Tina Rae loves most about Acupuncture is its simplicity for treating the body.
As a strong believer in the idea that a community of like-minded people can elevate the power of healing, Tina Rae is a natural advocate for the community style of acupuncture.Modern Acupuncture is similar in concept to community acupuncture, but with the added benefit of partial privacy.
In her free time, Tina Rae Loves to laugh, and have fun. She is always up for the next new adventure. She also loves to play rugby, ride her mountain bike “sugar”, and spend quality time with her family.
Dr. Ferrell has been providing leadership as a medical director for over 20 years and is board certified in Emergency Medicine—which he has practiced for 23 years. He is a trained and certified medical aesthetic medical director. He received his MD as well as his MBA from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
He ensures appropriate medical supervision of the patient care policies, procedures, and protocols used at Modern Acupuncture for their nutritional IV Therapy drips and Vitamin Shots. Dr. Ferrell has healthcare executive experience as a senior vice-president with Envision Healthcare—a fortune 500 company—specializing in operations. Prior to this role, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and a member of the executive team for Scottsdale Emergency Associates.
He is the former medical director of the Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Emergency Department, chairman of Pharmacy and Therapeutics for Honor Health and chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine as well as a member of the Medical Executive committee for the Honor Health system. His research interests include optimizing pain management and patient satisfaction as well as physician motivation/efficiency. He lives in Peoria with his wife and four children and is an avid golfer.
Teri received her master's and doctoral degrees from Emperor's College in Santa Monica, California, and has been licensed for more than 20 years. Teri has continued to be inspired by the incredible results she sees in patients under her care. "It is rewarding to treat the discomfort and challenges of my patients without the side effects of drugs."
Chinese medicine is a remarkable medical discipline that opened doors early in Teri's career. She was fortunate to meet and treat a group of professional hockey players in southern California. This led to working with other elite college athletes around the city, including the International Women's World Cup participants. Teri has gone on to use her experience teaching and running large college clinics.
Today, Teri has moved to Arizona to be closer to her family and is very excited to join the team at Modern Acupuncture - Central Phoenix.
Annette graduated from Idaho State University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in PreMed/Biology. During her final semester, she experienced her first acupuncture treatment after a severe car accident left her immobile and in debilitating pain. The remarkable relief and full mobility she regained from this treatment inspired her to shift her focus to Acupuncture and Asian Medicine. She then attended the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture (PIHMA), earning her Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2007. Annette is dedicated to providing alternative and complementary medicine to improve health and overall well-being.
